Welcome to a brand new series of workshops! Planning a summer getaway? Shellharbour on the south coast of NSW is a beautiful area to paint… with many local attractions from beaches and harbours to rockpools and mountain views. The village has cafes, shops and beaches within the immediate vicinity of the studio. Make this a relaxing break for yourself or a memorable family holiday. Places are limited so if you have been waiting for these workshops please book early to avoid disappointment.
Location: Shellharbour Village Exhibition Space, corner of Wentworth and Addison Sts, Shellharbour
Dates: Jan 30-Feb 1, Feb 6-8
Time: Daily 9:30am-4pm
Course Description: This will be a 3 day workshop painting around the Shellharbour area. A combination of plein air and studio work. Learn some of the handy tips and tricks I have picked up from painting on the road and overseas. How to pick the best subject, how to construct a successful painting, organizing your supplies and painting with a limited palette. All mediums welcome.
Materials list:
• Canvases or boards (6-10). Suggested sizes: 30X40cm up to 60X70cm
• Paints… your preferred medium. Oils, acrylics or watercolours.
Suggested colour palette: 1.Lemon Yellow 2.Cadmium Yellow Deep 3.Ultramarine Blue 4.Pthalo Blue 5.Cadmium Red Light 6.Alizarin Crimson. 7.Titanium White 8. Ivory Black/Paynes Grey
• If you are painting in oils please also bring acrylic paints if you have them: just primaries, black and white
• Brushes: A range of brushes and palette knives in different sizes
• Palette or plastic plates
• Rags or paper towels, odourless cleaning fluid, containers for mediums
• Mediums: liquin, painting medium or similar
• Sketch pad
• Painting pad or canvas pad for warm up exercises
• Pencils or pens
• Photos you wish to use as reference for painting
• French easels will be available in the studio but if you have a preferred plein air easel please bring it along.
Other
• Phone or iPad for photography
• Hat/sunscreen/walking shoes
• Water bottle
• Day pack or equivalent
Cancellation Policy:
Due to limited class size, purchased spots for all workshops are transferable but payment is non-refundable. What this means: If you buy a class spot and are unable to attend, and if there is a waiting list of students that has formed, we may be able to offer your spot to someone else. In this case you would be issued a refund. If you are unable to attend and there is no waiting list, we will unfortunately be unable to provide refunds.
