Quick video showing stage 1 of my process. I will be completing this painting over following videos so stay tuned. In the meantime feel free to start your own painting and follow along. I would love to see your progress pics!

Hi Richard,
big fan here. Are you going to be painting in acrylic all the way through, or is this an underpainting? Looking forward to reading more in the series.

Hi Irene, great to hear from you. Yes this is acrylic underpainting... I will be demonstrating how I apply the oil layers in upcoming videos. Stay tuned!

Very cool. Just wanted to clarify because you said you are now also painting with acrylics while traveling. Would love to hear more about how you manage your travel painting :) And what you think of the 2 mediums. I'm just starting out with traditional oils but thinking of switching to water soluble. So many choices!

How about using alkyd oils as an under painting to an oil painting?

Haven't tried that yet George. I'm all about what's quickest and easiest. Let me know how you go :)
