A Corner of Her World

This is my grandmother’s kitchen again — the place where time moved a little slower and the giant toaster always felt oddly permanent, like it would outlast us all.

I didn’t realise until much later how much of my painting life started in rooms like this. I even ended up writing a whole chapter about her kitchen in my new book The Light Between Rooms… which is really just a long excuse to talk about cups, light, and quiet domestic magic.
