It was my first time staying in an Airbnb—just a room in someone else’s apartment for the night. I arrived late, tiptoed in past their drying laundry, went to bed, then found this view waiting in the morning. Boats drifting. Clouds hovering.

Awkwardly trying to stay out of the way, I made a quick sketch while my host clanged around the kitchen, then packed up quietly and left, already planning how I’d paint it.
