Half Set

I thought about clearing the table before I painted it.
Decided it looked better like this—half set, half forgotten.
More honest, I think.
In the end, most of the room didn’t matter anyway.
Just that strip of light across the table, and how it slipped off the edge.

The rest of it sort of followed.
