A few years back, I wandered through a little lakeside village on the eastern arm of Lake Como. I remember turning a corner and seeing this terrace—bathed in light, the water flickering below, mountains in soft layers behind. Two locals deep in conversation, as if they’d never left that spot. I didn’t paint it at the time… but I’ve carried it with me.

Now, posting this while travelling through Le Marche, I’m realising how memories resurface differently depending on where you are. Somehow this scene feels both far away and completely present.
