Being back in Italy has brought back memories of a quiet morning by Lake Como a few years ago. I remember finding this little boat tucked into the reeds, the lake glassy and still, with the hills wrapping softly around the water like a secret.

There’s something about the calm of that moment that stayed with me — and it found its way into this painting without me even realising.
